This Privacy Policy explains how Pairus Inc. (Ontario corporation) ("Pairus", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you access or use our websites, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service").

Pairus is designed for professional matchmakers, relationship consultants, and related professionals. This Privacy Policy applies to users of the Service and to individuals whose public information may appear in the Service as part of profile discovery and adverse media screening.

  • Billing information: subscription plan details and billing status. Payment card details are processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Support and communications: messages you send to support, feedback, and other communications.
  • Search inputs and workflows: search queries, filters, saved lists, notes, and other inputs you submit in the Service.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, timestamps, referring URLs, and interactions with the Service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used for authentication, security, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but some functionality may be impacted.

2.3 Information from public and licensed sources

Pairus may process information from:

  • Publicly available sources (for example, open web pages, publicly accessible professional profiles, and public content).
  • Licensed third-party data providers that offer professional profile or contact datasets.

Adverse media only (current scope): At launch, Pairus Shield focuses on adverse media and open-web signals. It is not designed to provide criminal history checks, identity verification, or regulated background screening.

3. How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Authenticate users and maintain sessions
  • Deliver searches, profile views, and analysis
  • Track credit usage and subscription entitlements

Pairus may surface information about individuals that is derived from public sources or licensed datasets. This can include professional details, public presence signals, and adverse media references.

Important notes:

  • No private messages: Pairus does not access private messages or private accounts.
  • No guarantee of accuracy: Public and third-party data may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
  • Context and responsibility: The Service is designed to support professional judgment and does not provide definitive conclusions about a person.

6. Data retention

We retain information only as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

Typical retention examples:

  • Account data: retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for compliance and security.
  • Logs and security data: retained for a limited time to detect abuse and maintain reliability.

If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify information unless we must keep it for legal, security, or operational reasons.
